A summer day in hell with Car Bomb and Imperial Triumphant
Car Bomb:
In an explosive combination of polyrhythmic tendencies, changing tempos and syncopated, deep guitar riffs, American Car Bomb takes the audience by storm.
The band's heavy and intensely disorienting sound universe has jazz-inspired drums and dynamic vocal lines as a matter of course, and the band unmistakably falls into the category of specialists in extremely aggressive and experimental metal.
Car Bomb has a string of hard-hitting releases behind them, to which leading media outlets such as Pitchfork have over time taken up the review pen and written words of praise about the quartet's discography. About the self-released 2012 album, w^w^^w^w, it was said from the magazine:
"For all their advancements towards accessibility, the pounding lock-step rhythms are still the core of the band, and w^w^^w^w ranks among the year's most unrelenting records.”
Imperial Triumphant:
With New York as the overriding backdrop, the gold-mask-wearing and robe-clad trio Imperial Triumphant creates an eclectic genre mix of avant-garde, black metal and jazz.
The American metropolis is the inexhaustible source of inspiration and musical fuel for the tempo specialists, and in a press release, the band's guitarist and vocalist Zachary Ezrin talks about the relationship to the city and the relationship to their musical core and discography: “The theme of every IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT record is New York City. That's the fuel.”
The trio has released several albums since 2014, and earlier this year the band released their latest album, Goldstar, fresh off the presses. Goldstar dabbles in the frenetic energy of avant-garde and the lightning-fast guitar riffs of metal, setting the stage for Imperial Triumphant's most ambitious release to date.
